Riders are additional coverage benefits or special provisions that you add to your basic international travel insurance policy in order to cater to your needs.

Rider policies are not a part of the original policy document but can be purchased to enhance your coverage benefits. These coverage benefits enhance your protection greatly for a small additional premium.

Rider policies cannot be bought independently. They can only be added to an existing international travel insurance plan. For example, if an international travel insurance policy meets all your requirements, except covering for winter sports, you can add this facility by purchasing a rider policy than opting for a whole new tourist insurance plan.

Rider policies can also be used to exclude certain benefits! Such rider policies are categorized as waiver policies. In this case, a certain amount of premium is deducted. For example, if you want to opt out of accidental death and dismemberment benefit, you need to specify it as a waiver policy and you would not be reimbursed if you file your claims for this benefit.
