  • Travel Insurance: Is it Really Child’s Play?

To avoid holidays from hell, parents are always looking for ways to ensure that their kids enjoy their time abroad too, without burning a huge hole in their pockets. It can be a challenge with kids being more susceptible to illnesses and infections in a different environment. This is where wise international travel insurance purchase comes to the rescue.

When purchasing international travel insurance, look for plans that cover children for free. Most international travel insurance plans offer this feature for children up to the age of 19. However, always remember to check that the plan specifies that it covers your dependent children. The last thing you want is for your claim to be denied because you did not ask.

When traveling with young children, remember to take some familiar foods with you to feed them. Children need to experience different things, but they also need to feel comfortable.

Also remember to ensure that children take care of basic safety and health precautions. Washing their hands often is a must, and you might need to be extra vigilant about that. If your kids are happy, it goes without saying that you will also be a happy camper!

Travel tip: Do a little bit of research to see if there is a Subway or a McD’s at your destination, if your kids might find these establishments familiar and comforting.
